Stopped at Scott's and asked if they would check my tire with a nail b4 it went flat. They did this for me and found the 3 " nail was lying between the treads. Told me there was no leak and all was OK. NO charge for this great service. What a great neighborhood business. A big thank you to this great local business!
I can’t say enough good things about this business! I got a return phone call at opening and a clear explanation of what I needed and the cost. They told me my car would be ready before closing and I got a call that my car was ready by mid afternoon. I arrived and the people up front were so kind and personable. The cost was very reasonable for 4 new tires! I’ll definitely be going back soon for other things I’ve needed for a while. They’ve gained a life long customer. Thank you!!
Highly recommend Scott’s U-Save. Went in with a leaky tire and worked with Adam on what needed to be done. I ended up getting 4 new tires but it was after working with Adam on the pros and cons on fixing the tire or replacing. Turns out the best option for me was to replace. But what I loved is that he took the time to go through my options and I felt like he wasn’t trying to just sell me the highest priced tire. Was able to get me in and out the same day with everything all fixed. And with me having the piece of mind that I’m now good with tires for awhile.Highly recommend!
They were able to find a replacement Rim that no one else could find unless it was $430 for one. Saved me a lot of money. Thank you so much for your patience and help
Went in due to an engine light coming on in my 2012 Jeep JK and had them do a diagnostic check. I continue coming back here because of their honesty! They don’t try and make me spend loads of money on stuff I don’t need. Thank you all for explaining you are the only ones who touch my Jeep other than myself!!! I mean that.
Checked around town for prices for New front tires, they beat everybody by $50. I bought their new front tires, spent the $50 I saved on two used ones for the rear. And they installed all four on the rims, Best deal in town!
I had a flat & of course no jack for my lifted Sierra. I went to Scott’s as a walk-in hoping they could help me. At a time when we’re suppose to be happy for people just for showing up.Scott’s knocked it out the park. They had a tech who happened to came in early punch in to help me. Wow!!!! I was happy. Especially since later that day I had to take my mom to her Dr.’s appointment.Thank you Adam & your team for the peace of mind. I will definitely return.
I was very impressed with my service. I stopped in on a Saturday with a flat tire unannounced. The service representative Brad did not have the tire in stock, but didn't let me leave until he found one and got it on that day. It's a bit out of my way, but I'll be back for sure.

First time using Scott's, replaced rear brakes. Provided a clear estimate of price and needed work, and completed work in a timely manner. Very pleased with their service. Will definitely be using their service for any future repairs needed for all my vehicles.
I was very pleased with the service, but knew I would be because I have gone to a former service location where Dave, an employee, had worked. If your place is worthy of Dave's employment then it's definitely a place I would prefer to go and would let others know as well. Highly recommended ? ?
Was going here to get tires but discovered I could one stop shop to take care of brakes as well. It appears they took care of a nagging brake issue that two other places couldn't find and repair. Super friendly and gave me a ride home so I didn't have to stick around all day.
Scott's was super easy, conveient, and professional to work with. I called to schedule both of our cars for oil changes since we are new to the area and we were looking for a nearby shop. We dropped our cars off in the morning before work utilizing their key drop box. They called when they were ready, gave us an overview of the work done with free quotes for additional work we will need in the future, and were reasonably priced! Super pleased with Scott's and we will be going back for regular oil changes and maintance in the future.
U- save is a miss leading title, definitely wasn't cheap to mount and balance rims and tires that were already off the car. Then they wouldn't mount one of the tires because it was too old even though the tire was in excellent condition. I appreciate that they took me on short notice but now I have to find another place to mount my one tire. Upon double checking the tires once I got home, they mounted one of the tires backwards. Two of the tires were directional and need to be mounted in the direction of travel. They have an arrow pointing which way they need to be mounted but I guess they were careless in double checking their work.
Came in to Scott’s needing a quick tire mounted. I was met with very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly service. Pricing was reasonable and they were quick to complete. Would recommend

I haven’t had any issues with Scott’s and have only had good experiences here. I’ve gotten a few oil changes, alignments, and have had my summer/winter wheel tire set switched out here a couple times on my mustang and am usually always in and out pretty quick and for a reasonable price. I recommend Scott’s U Save!
Scott's rips off women. They see a woman come in alone and all of a sudden you need extensive work and you should make an appointment for new tires, even though you know yours are fine.
I would give them zero Stars if I could I brought my car there with the reference of a few people and was only left with being let down. I was charged $165 for a test that wielded no answers and was still charged the money for the test. Would not recommend waste of time and money especially after they had my car for multiple days and still could not figure anything out.Also you guys said you found three codes but yet did not offer to help me with the codes by fixing them. no bueno
Went in for a wheel alignment they called me and told me they couldn't do it because they found a bunch of things wrong with my jeep over 2k in repairs supposedly and the main priority was getting the lower control arm fixed and supposedly the struts could wait. I ended up paying $75 regardless cause they looked at it and they said they would put that towards my bill when I get the alignment and control arm fixed. I ended up having 2 different mechanics check my jeep and nothing wrong was except my tire sensor and turn signal bulb. So they just make things up and hope you fall for it what a shame kept my $75 won't ever be going back. I have not heard positive feedback from people I know about this place.
I had some uneven tire wear on my pick up truck. I made an appointment and dropped it off. The truck, 2003 2500HD silverado 6.0 crew cab had 134000 miles on it. Control arms, upper and lower ball joints were replaced and an alignment was done. Truck drives great now.
Great service, competitive prices! Down the st. They tell you what is needed in a sincere not pushy explanation of what is needed.
With "U Save" in the name, you would think you wouldn't be charged 3x as much JUST for diagnostics as other mechanics in the neighborhood. $140 just to plug in the machine, press a couple buttons and find out what's wrong? Absolutely diabolical. Anyone else in the neighborhood will charge ~$50. I didn't even want to find out how much the repair would be. If you want to save money, don't go to Scott's U Save.
I HAVE to Update/Edit my review! This auto service place WAS my & my family's go-to for all our auto service needs, but I had a terrible experience, and I'm still suffering from it! I was having issues with my heat. I thought I needed to have my heater core replaced, but the tech/they suggested to flush it. They said that's probably all it is. I was fine with that. It was a cheaper solution anyway, so cool! What they DID NOT explain to me is if that didn't work, I'll still have to pay for that service and then pay for my core to be replaced?!? I understand that things cost, but you have to explain the whole scenario so that I can make a decision accordingly! I gave away around $500 to have NO HEAT! I also tried to speak with a manager multiple times, but I never received a response or returned call. I loved the place before this incident, but it's not right to take a person's hard earned money without any resolution or attempt to resolve.
They do good work and I need more work done but they give me anxiety cause their prices will be up there.
Scott's U- Save does a lot for Charites at the end of the year. Our organization has received a donation from them. This was our second year in a row so far. So please patronize them.
Charged me 1200 for trans lines and two fittings and trans cooler worst place never bring my car truck here again then try charge for tire flat but got pics was ok befor on flat bed and off over charged for job and all nva again bring here again I could rebuilt my trans and all for tht knew I had have done and over charged

Scott’s is NOT the place to go for what should be a quick oil change. I made an appointment a week in advance, showed up on time and was asked if I’m leaving my car or staying….for an oil change WITH an appointment. Was told it would currently take 1.5-2 hours for the oil change. That is something that should be conveyed when you make the appointment. On my one day off I am not sitting 2 hours waiting for an oil change. Jiffy Lube in Glenwood had me in and out in 20 minutes.
This place is really family. I have been taking my car here for years and they always welcome me with smiles. I don't have much knowledge about cars but they break it down and help me understand everything. I wouldn't take my car anywhere else. Everyone is so friendly. I highly recommend bringing your vehicle to Scott's U-Save!
Scheduled an oil change 5 days in advance. It took TWO HOURS. I could’ve commuted home and back in that time.

I called to see what it would cost to put my passengerwindow back on track and replace window motor if needed. The parts are under 100 dollars and they quoted me for 1000 dollars to fix it. Takes mabe and hour to fix with the part and th right tools. And I already opened the door so it's easy access. And they still said 1000 dollars. That's rediculous. I didn't want my wi down down in the rain so I was gunna pay a shop instead of waiting on the part in the mail and risk my seats getting wet from rain. But screw that. I'll wait for part. It was 60 dollars. And ill fix it myself within an hour. Get other quotes before u go here. They up charge bad
From my experience, I will not be patronizing this company anymore. The people who work here aren’t friendly. Most that work here are racist, as well as some of the customers that come in for service. The prices are outrageous. They charge too much to fix small issues. I recently got my car fixed from them in April. Only to come back to have “new issues” which needed to be addressed. I don’t feel like the issues be related to what’s really wrong with the car. I feel like they just be telling me anything just to get more money. They don’t work with you on prices. What are you really saving??? I shouldn’t have to spend over 2,000$ just to come back 3 months later and have to spend over 1,000$. This company is ridiculous and I’ve been to better mechanics with better customer service and have not been charged nearly as much as this company tries to charge. Upon looking up the pricing of parts myself. They try to charge 3 times more than what the part actually cost, and they triple the labor price as well… This shop should be shut down not only for coning people out of their hard earned money, but also for being hateful towards mostly blacks. If there was a lower rating than one star this company would definitely receive it. I don’t recommend getting your car serviced here if you are trying to “SAVE” money.
How can you justify charging a senior on her bill 645.00 for a fuel pump. Then check rock auto for same pump for 85.00????? Total bill 1,750.00. Won't ever be using your business. Scott’s has been taking care of my vehicles for years now. I am always given honest advice, and I never feel like my pockets are being picked through a false depiction of what my car “needs”. Got my air filter replaced here and got totally scammed paid 1000$ to then have it have the same problem not too long later. Brought it to a REAL mechanic and he told me it’s never been replaced once. Don’t come here you’ll loose out on money and they probably break your car

The service was great. I discovered I had balded tires in my driveway at 8am and they took me right away and had me pulled in by 845am. I appreciated the technician being thorough and making sure the tires were good and road worthy. It took a long time... but when the first tire he put on was not good he took the time to get a good one and check to make sure he was helping me stay safe on the road. Then we discovered I had a 2nd balded tire and he changed that too! I will absolutely use them in the future and have already recommend them to someone
I drive thru a storm and saw my PSi drop to 0. I made the poor choice to try to get home and ended up driving on a very blown tire.The next day my car was towed to Scott’s. They went out of there way to try to get a tire that day. Had to wait till Tuesday but the put a spare on and I could turn in my loaner. Tire was ready Tuesday and looks great. The cost was way less than I expected. These are honest good people!

My daughters car broke down and we barely made it to the shop because it kept stalling. They estimated the total repairs at $1919, we had to replace the purge valve to the cost of $539. $1600 for spark plugs and tune up. NO WAY!! Only to die out when she left the shop. She returned from across the street and they said we told you that you had dirty spark plugs. We got the car home and fixed at Crete Auto shop. We didn't need the valve or spark plugs per the other shop.WE WILL NEVER BE BACK. TOTAL RIP OFF!!!!!
Just had my oil changed and rear brakes replaced and am very satisfied with the work. The staff, especially Tom, are friendly and knowledgeable. They answered all my questions. Have been coming her for 15+ years.
Great work very fast.But the man behind the counter with long ? goatee was very very rude. He should be working on the cars, not as service manager, he has no people skills. I simply ask if my car was done. Because it was off the rack. He replied in unprofessional way. I even apologize for asking but he keeped on talking, I had to walk away.
Dave was able to give me a great deal on 4 new tires for my vehicle. They were installed quickly and I am very satisfied with my new tires.

I came in to Scott’s U-Save on Wednesday morning with no appointment scheduled. I explained that my wife was leaving out of town for a few days later in the afternoon and that I needed 2 tires changed out on her car. They had no open availability but Dave was able to squeeze me in so my wife would have a safe car to take on her trip. They were very professional and they have the best customer service!!! I will continue to go there for any of my car repair needs. Thanks again Dave!
I was concerned about the way my SUV rode and handled under certain road conditions and suspected it might be the tires. I visited Scott’s and chatted with Tom, one of the advisors. He took the time to patiently educate me on the impact a tire can have on the overall ride experience. Based upon Tom’s advice, I later purchased B.F. Goodrich Advantage Control tires as replacements. Tom’s recommendation was “spot on.” The ride is tremendously improved. There are many places to buy tires, but accurate information is often hard to acquire. Thanks to Tom and the team at Scott’s for a great experience!
Great experience! I had to go there to get a tire repaired, and they took great care of me. Explained their services to me, and offered other things free of charge. They were honest and transparent from the start. They made me feel welcome and that they appreciated my business. I will definitely go back for any future automotive needs. I have been to Scott's U Save in Steger, IL four or five times over the past five years for various reasons. My most recent visit was to have my tires and brakes inspected. I have found the staff to be courteous and helpful. I was always informed of any work that needed to be done to my vehicle along with the costs before any repairs were completed. The waiting room is comfortable with a TV and a charging station. There is also a coffee area as well. I highly recommend Scott's U Save for your automotive service and repairs.

I've had my car taken care of plenty of times from this place. All of the employees and workers are super friendly and they know what they're doing. I was just there recently for an oil change and tire rotation. I waited for an hour and a half,but it was worth it. I recommend this place for sure ?
Regular maintenance. Scott’s has serviced all of my cars since the day they opened. Usually, other than tires and oil change the get may cars after warranty has run out. They have done work on many new cars as well as second and third cars in our family. In fact this last visit was to change the oil and rotate the tires on my 2007 Ford Five Hundred(many don’t even know what that is) it has 194,000 miles and running strong. Get your oil changed it one of the best things you can do! Lol?
This is the second time I've taken my SUV to Scott’s to fix the issue caused by another mechanic, and every time they fix the problems. I will no longer take my car anywhere but to Scott’s u Save. I can always trust the job will be completed the first time correctly. You can't go wrong with Scott’s.

I had a great experience at Scott's U-Save. I needed a complete set of tires for my 4-year-old Hyundai Sonata. I spoke with Tony in the tire department and he had a quote for me within 10 minutes. I was able to get upgraded Michelin tires that he ordered for me. They were there for me within the day and my car was completed the same day even though the store was very busy. Their pricing was better than any major discount auto repair chain. The service was quick and efficient. What counted more was that I got great customer service, responsiveness and quality auto care. I will definitely be back for new brakes soon. I would highly recommend Scott's U-Save to family and friends. Scott's is just about 2 blocks south of Steger Road at 35th Place on Chicago Road on the west side of the street.

Each and every time I come to Scott’s I am pleased. I feel as if I have received “white glove” treatment. I make an appointment and I will get right in. If you need a shuttle, they are open to doing so. Prices are more than fair and I never feel as if they are trying to squeeze every dime out of me. They tell you what you need and make sure that you understand what is recommended. When you get your tires with them, you get a lifetime with rotations. What more can you ask for?

Fast and friendly. I got new wheels and tires and my wife got a lift kit, wheels, and tires. Lift was done in a couple days and wheels only took a couple days to arrive. Selection wasn’t the best but I’m still satisfied. They also have financing if your short on cash.

I went in to get a basic nail hole in the tread of my tire plugged. I figured they would do it for a small fee. So they end up telling me the damage is to severe(total lie) for a plug. Then tries to sell me some tires. I explain I have AWD and can't buy just one tire. I need to replace them all at the same time and I can't afford that right now. He said there is nothing he can do. So I end up going to auto zone and buying a tire plug kit for 10 dollars and fixed it myself. Tires are perfect bought em a year ago. This guy was saying they are in bad shape. Total sales predators. Every time I drive past this place I point at it say SCAM SHOP. Never go here, so many better places not as fancy looking in town. These shady sales techniques are learned from management, so I can assure you the same treatment from anyone here. FYI my tires have been perfect in the last 5 mos. since visiting this place all winter no issue, no sliding on the road.
Unbelievable job on our ram 1500. 6" lift with 35" nitto grapplers. This is what Ram should be offering from the factory
I went down the street to Keith’s small engine shop with my two snow blower tires that had lost air over the winter. No holes, so no patch or replacement needed. I thought they’d throw some air in them and I’d be on my way. The service was obliged, however at the price of $30. $30 to re bead two 4.5 inch tubeless tires. I called the nearest auto repair shop, Scott’s, and was told to come on in, “We may not be equipped to fix them, but we’ll give it a shot.” I walked in, Dave , the gentleman I spoke to, took my tires, handed them to a tech, and two minutes later and not a penny lighter ,I was on my way home. That’s service, common courtesy, and the small town feel you expect from this town. Thank you Scott’s and Dave. Go kick rocks Keith
My experience was very good. The staff took care of my Malibu and communicated with me throughout the process, no surprises. They even contacted me a few days later just to make sure all was good. My wife and I will be back, but hopefully not too soon ?
The guys there told me It would be $900 to fix a tie rod and a lower ball joint, which is ridiculous, both parts don’t even cost a fraction of the price. While they had an “inspection fee” to look at the car, I bring it back home and both left side wheels have a positive camber which they didn’t even put in the report. This place has became more shady n cash hungry ever since there best employees left… just took apart my back wheel off and come to find out my Back right axel is bent, which wasn’t on the report. This place is a joke…
How do you charge me for an allinment.when i needed shocks. They were a good shop. But you are never supposed to make this mistake.
I have what appears to be a slow leak and needed at least air to get me through the next day tomorrow to attend a funeral. With only two minutes to spare before closing a very kind gentleman had a young man check and add air to the tire. I will return at a later time for further service like purchasing tires. Thank you for the great service.

I have used Scott’s and was let down big time by the poor communication and incomplete work. My vehicle was serviced there for brakes. A portion of the job was not completed. I requested several callbacks from the manager, yet they ignored the problem. At this point, I could not trust the shop to perform any other work on my vehicle. Bottom line, if you want to pay more for poor service and be spoken to like a child then use Scott’s. If you want great service at a better price seek out any other mechanic or do the repairs yourself.
So I go in to get 4 new tires get em and all of a sudden my TPMS tire pressure gauges are all not working coincidentally. They say “they go bad after a while” meanwhile my car has less than 50k miles on it and it must be some coincidence that they go bad THE DAY I get my car back. I get a nail in one of the tires, bring it back not even a week later, no warranty or anything on the tires I pay for a whole new one and they make me install it myself in the parking lot. Employees were also snappy and arrogant to me when I asked any questions. Do not recommend unless you have a wish to just throw money away.
I had my brakes and calibers replaced a couple of days ago and I was driving and they caught fire, actual flames. I couldn’t drive my car home from Joliet ?the car was towed by the insurance company, driver said when towing the right brakes were locked, now I’m stuck paying an additional $1,000.00 on top of the $2,500.00 already invested. The brake hoses were never addressed and appeared bad, plus the caliber rod was not tightened correctly. The cost for repairs is under $1,000.00, but should not be paid by me.
When my truck started to have grinding noise, I decided to take it to Scotts U Save, New Lenox. I explained to the workers there that it was a clunking noise with grinding. I explained I was not sure where it was coming from. After about 1 hour Dave called me stating it was a bad rear differential. He then proceeded to tell me that the rear brakes need replacing including both rear calipers that were frozen. Total quote for the job was over $7100. I decided to take it to another mechanic. That mechanic replaced the brakes and caliper and the grinding remained. This mechanic drove the truck me with him and immediately determined the problem to be coming from my rear wheels. After taking the time to inspect the problem he found that it was my wheel bearings on both sides. He also did a visual inspection of my differential and found no problem with the gears. He also informed me that no one as completed a visual inspection of the differential. HOW COULD SCOTTS US SAVE DETERMINE I HAD A BAD DIFFERENTIAL WITHOUT INSPECTING IT! I’m glad I decided to get a second opinion. Scotts would have replaced my differential and my problem would have remained. I used the previous business, Best Buy Tire, for anything from oil changes to wheel replacement. I gave you a try and you destroyed my trust. I will not be back. Fast, courteous, affordable and quality work! They not only sent me a text reminding me of my appointment but also when my truck was almost done. I dropped my truck off to have a few things done to it and they had it back to my in the afternoon.

Brought my truck to Scott's U-Save to see if they could remove a broken truck frame bolt. There were additional rusted bolts that needed to be removed and all those bolts broke off also. Mechanic Eric removed the broken bolts and installed 4 new ones in their place. Eric is a great mechanic that I've known and used for many years. Wasted my time. They forgot about my appointment and did nothing to accommodate me. Lost a potential long term customer, not just because they made a mistake, but because the lack of customer service to correct their mistake.
This place deserves zero stars. Very shady people up front. The service writer with the glasses, I think his name was Dan or Dave was extremely rude. When I asked why the parts were so expensive when everyone else was much cheaper he replied and I quote "Parts cost what they do because they do, if you can't afford it go someplace else". Music was way, way too loud in the shop. Because every prospective customer wants to hear rap music at full volume with no one telling the person to turn it down or off. Terrible ownership. I highly recommend you go somewhere else. I can't wait to see "for sale" signs on this place by the end of the year.
Would really like to leave a half star review.The guy at the desk seemed shady and quoted 3 different prices in the same conversation. Seemed quite pricey compared to others. Guy was very rude when I told him that I would be back. Music was terribly loud and the whole interaction seemed very unprofessional. I suggest you look elsewhere.
Wonderful experience!!! Very honest, affordable, same day appointment for oil change. Also offered me a ride home as my plan for a ride fell through. Very friendly , family environment. Would highly recommend Scott’s U Save!
I had an emergency with a flat tire the other day. There was a bracket with 2 screws embedded in my tire ! I drove straight to Scotty’s & they were very busy, but managed to get my car in within an hour. They even offered to drive me home so I didn’t have to wait there. I only live about 3 blocks away, so I just walked. Great customer service & I will definitely go back. I will also recommend this business to family & friends. Thanks guys !!!
From the 1st phone call they were very helpful. They were able to get me in right away and provide me a quote. The work was scheduled and completed as promised. The follow up text a few days later was really appreciated. You don't see this much in the service world. Thanks

They did great work on a complicated vehicle. I have a 2012 Chevy Silverado with a 5.3 V8. This engine has a complicated fuel management system that deactivates & reactivates certain engine cylinders on demand. I also needed emission work to performed. Scott's U-Save was able to work on on this system. The work was done at a fair price, in a time efficient manner. Vehicle runs great. Thanks for your time and expertise.

I had an oil change and maintenance done in December of 2021 and was very satisfied. Brought my car back for tires and electrical work last week. I was very satisfied with the work. Employee's very courteous and knowledgeable. Especially Samantha and Mikey.
If you like coming to a shop where the music is so loud you can't hear the service advisor explain something on your car come here. I was going to buy services here but I'm going to go somewhere else.
Used this shop in the past many times when it was formerly Best Buy Tire & Auto & was always satisfied with their work & thought their prices were fair & they were honest. I went to take my car there last week for a quote on some work I needed done & saw the name change. I went in & found out that it was under new ownership which happened in October of 2021.Never noticed it going by it several times since that happened I also was told that 4 of the mechanics stayed on with them so that was a big plus in my eyes. I dropped my car off Saturday morning for front axles replacements & a rear suspension part replacement. They were also supposed to do a front end alignment after replacing the front axles but did not do that since they found out that my lower control arms need to be replaced also. There was no way all of that work could be completed in a 5 hour day which is what they are open on Saturdays. Also they would of had to get those parts. They also did not want to charge me twice for a front end alignment because it will need to be done again when the lower control arms are replaced. They did get the work on my car completed before they closed on Saturday & I was able to pick it up.The only complaint I would have on this repair is when I originally brought it in for a quote I told them that another repair shop that replaced my front strut assembles said that I needed the lower control arms replaced & from what I could see when changing my oil & oil filter I believed that this was most likely true. I had planned on bringing it here( at that time I thought it was still Best Buy Tire & Auto) for a quote to get this done but before I did that I encountered a different from end noise that I had diagnosed as a CV joint or joints going out. So when I did bring it in to have them confirm this I told them about the lower control arms. I was told that for $50 they would do a front & rear suspension & steering inspection & that if I had any repairs done then this $50 would be applied to the repair cost. I thought that was a pretty good deal. When they brought me out into the shop to get under my car on the lift to show me what was going on with the front axles I talked to the mechanic about the lower control arms & he said he did not believe they needed to be replaced but he would further inspect them to be sure he was right. He did that & said I did not need to replace them but when I picked my car up after they replaced the axles they said after taking it out for a test drive after the repairs there was still some front end noise when hitting bumps in the road & that was being caused by the lower control arms. This is the only reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5. I would recommend them for repairs.
Amazing service! Got it finished in about and hour and got it back the same day. They called with other problems and gave me a quota in them. Then checked up a couple days later to see if everything was running smoothly! Great service for my first time! Will definitely be back.

They helped with my fiancés car to ensure that everything was fixed. We went in for an oil change but found a couple of things leaking. They fixed all problems that day with a great explanation as to why they need to get fixed. 10 out of 10 would recommend this place hands down ??
